Opening requirements and books
The community Bookstore reference lists Shopping Baskets, Cash Register or Checkout Counter, at least one main product and Headquarters. Its main products are Limited Edition Book, Motivational Book, Novel, Picture Book, Technical Manual and Youth Novel. Customer-service coverage and receiving storage should be ready before the first delivery.

The Novel reference gives different large/small shelf figures, 180/60. Treat 270/90 as attributed Bookstore-page values, not a resolved 1.0 specification. Read the shelf tooltip in your save before calculating the number to buy.
Import books before opening
- Create the headquarters workstation and assign a Purchasing Agent.
- Check BlueStone Imports for the book products you want. The Novel entry’s EA 0.9 data says novels are imported there; older wholesale-buying instructions may no longer apply.
- Arrange warehouse storage and delivery to the shop, then stock the shelves and test one trading day.
Cost and profitability limits
Bookshelf (Large) is listed at $780 at AJ Pederson & Son. Two of these plus a $900 Cash Register total $2,460 in selected equipment only. Baskets, a counter, headquarters, rent, wages and first stock are additional. Novel’s older $6.57 import quote differs from the fan price table’s $6.03 baseline; neither is a guaranteed current quote. Compare actual unit costs before scaling.
